I was thinking that in keeping with this idea
There should be a sort of Faction Upkeep when controlling a Town so that way there is a chance that any given Guild will lose control of a Town.
Every certain amount of time all Towns become open again and Faction is drained so Guilds can have a chance, kind of like the way the Ladder resets.
Add more Towns for control, instead of 55 make it so its around 75~
Allow other Guilds to challenge a Guild for control of the Town:
If succesful the challenger Guild gains control of the land for a limited amount of time, after the time is up the previous owner Guild can try to regain the Town again. Only an opposite Faction Guild may due this and only if they dont already control a Town.
Limit the cap of Alliances based on TOTAL members within the Alliance instead of amount of Guilds. In this way an alliance can be composed of two large Guilds or ten smaller ones but in the end they have approximately the same amount of players. This will balance Guilds Alliances.
Yes I also agree with opening Elite Missions in this way to other players as long as they are of the same allied Faction as the Guild. However I think that the compulsory donation of Faction should NOT go to the Guild holding the Town. It should perhaps be used in some other way but NOT given to the Guild or else then they WILL always control the Town.

Granted, most of us have moved on but, this is an idea who's time has come. With the majority of people in NF now, trying to enter either elite mission anymore is to say a bit of a challenge.Ferrys are all but gone and people in general have moved their characters out of the area. Maybe put a NPC in areas once again to revive these most enjoyable areas or as the previous posts have stated, a factions fee per elite per player to enter.....I would very much enjoy returning to these areas myself without having to wait hours on end to find nobody there....

As I have not read ALL of the posts in this thread this idea might have been already suggested so bare with me please.
I do agree that the controlling guild should have full access to the elite areas I am also disapointed in having the missions inaccessable to so many people that getting a group there is next to impossible. I believe the NPC's should require a donation of faction (or cash, like the fissure of woe) to either the kurzicks or the luxons and NOT the controlling guild. This faction would be paid to the GAME and not to any players or guilds. This would incourage more alliance battles! Also, I belive the NPC's should only allow access to those areas from Cavalon and House zu Helter but outside the exclusive-area gates. Also in the capitals the guild-exclusive areas should have more merchants with discounts. Make it WORTH your while to control the areas. If you can expand on these ideas please do so.
I agree with paying for access when going in while the controlling guild gets the mission free. You could still park at the mission until you decide to leave. then you would need to pay the entrance fee again. Maybe the fee could be collectors items like soul stones or something. these changes could be part of the next 'dragon festival'

Hm... I'll first prevent player from getting there by Entering the zone, travle to guild hall, then going out of guild hall.
Players doing that should find themselves in the capitals instead of the elite missions.
Then, once that is fixed, I'll make the Guardinas of each outpost let people enter there, but making people pay an 'small fee'.
Every 3 hours (or whenever the border ir calculates and outpost change alliances), the gold paid to the Gate keeper of those outpost is shared between the logged in members of the alliance (minimum one gold, XD).
So, you want to get cheaper keys, you pay 100, 500 1000 gold to the gate keeper, and buy some of them.
You want to go down to Urgoz's Warren ,and you have to pay to get in the exclusive area.

I haven't been to a Canthan elite mission for ages... Guess why?
Because i have better things to do than spam 'LF TAXI' in HzH for ages till someone actually bothers to give me a lift... then i have to wait for the rest of the guild/alliance to team up or for the extremely limited number of pugs to fill up. (This and the Deep is shit).
By the looks of things the holding alliance of HzH/Cavalon hasn't changed for ages, so if they decide to not offer it out then this input is completely pointless.
Either make it attainable if the correct side is holding Harvest Temple (wouldn't matter, it swings between each side regularly) or make them both accessable once you finish the game like DoA.

/cough, this thread is almost a year old and has been dead for a really long time.
Btw, no one should have to pay anything to get into Urgoz and The Deep, Anet should add NPC's to Kaineng permentantly but make them unaccessible/wont talk to unascended players. Giving alliances who hold towns the elite missions was the worst thing Anet has ever done, and they know that!
I'm still shocked by the people that charge 5plat to get into Urgoz, and they claim that's a "tip" a tip is the ammount I choose to give to you, I'm not an ass, but if you're an ass I wont give you much, if you're not you'll get more from me, just like if you were serving me food.. But yeah, honestly no one should be forced to pay to get into the elite missions of Factions and the NPC's in Kaineng should stay there permentantly, like I stated as long as you're an ascended player (OR like Evilsod stated you beat the game Factions and open up the accessibility like DoA is for Nightfall) you can gain access to the elite missions, this 1) guarantees level 20's, 2) the people have some idea about what they are doing. 3) can comprehend the game mechanics enough to do a mission like this. just my opinion though.
